08/10/2003 The French Cultural Center in Cluj-Napoca announces the fifth edition of the "European Rencontres in Cluj", which is going to take place from 16 to 18 of October 2003, addressing the topic "Civil Society in Romania at the Time of the Enlarged Europe". The European Workshop in Cluj tackles the relationship between culture, citizenship - which marks the individual autonomy and responsibility -, and democracy - as space of mutual respect and recognition of diversity. The ECUMEST Association is one of the partners to this event.

05/06/2003 The French Institute in Bucharest, ECUMEST Association and the University of Arts in Belgrade launched in Romania, on 5th June 2003, the programme of Regional Postgraduate Studies in Cultural Management and Cultural Policy in the Balkans (based in Belgrade). The postgraduate programme is organised by the University of Arts in Belgrade, in partnership with the French universities Lyon II, Institute of Political Studies in Grenoble and Paris IX Dauphine and is supported by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with the participation of UNESCO and the Central European Initiative. The Embassy of France in Bucharest, The French Institute in Bucharest and ECUMEST Association are the local partners of this project in Romania.

21/04/2003 The ECUMEST Association and the European Cultural Foundation are organising, in the framework of the "Policies for Culture" programme, with the support of the Central European Initiative and the Romanian Ministry of Culture and Religious Affairs, the international workshop "Local cultural strategy development in South East Europe. Building on practice and experience". The workshop took place in Bucharest on 8-10 May and brought together representatives of central and local authorities, of cultural organisations and experts in the field of local cultural policy making from throughout Europe, and particularly from the South Eastern European region.

21/04/2003 Bucharest was hosting, between 21-25 April 2003, the residence of the students of the graduate program of Studies in interculturalism, art management and mediation in the Balkans, initiated by the University of Arts in Belgrade, accompanied by the Rector of the University, Mrs. Milena Dragicevic-Sesic. The residence was organised by the ECUMEST Association, partner to the programme.
